  Clearly a focus on service, but mediocre haircut.
  
  A haircut at 18|8 goes like so:
  
  1. Enjoy complimentary coffee, beer, water, wine, etc while you're waiting for your stylist
  
  2. Change into one of their shirts so you don't get clippings all over yours
  
  3. A nice shampoo and head massage
  
  4. Mediocre haircut. Nothing special. Not BAD, but not good either. Middle of the road leaning towards bad.
  
  5. Another head rinse & hot towel for your face. It's nice unless it's already hot out, in which case I would rather have a cool towel. The clippers put off a bit of heat so i probably would've rather had a cool towel
  
  6. Change back into your shirt
  
  7. Pay $39 + a tip for the service you experienced.
  
  The whole thing took just over an hour because we had to keep going back and recutting my hair when she couldn't cut it right (e.g. one side was longer than the other, she had to cut it shorter than I wanted because she messed up, couldn't really do a fade, etc). My hair still wasn't exactly how I wanted when I left, but I had stayed long enough. So the haircut, at least mine (your experience may vary), was not worth $40. But the experience of the whole thing is probably worth about that. They also include a complimentary "touch up" so you can get your neck and around your ears cleaned up in between haircuts, which is nice.
  
  I probably won't be going back but overall it was a good experience. I rated three stars, not four, because although the service is excellent, it's really the haircut that you remember. After all, I am reminded of my hair at least five times a day in the mirror, while I am only pampered at the salon (it's a salon, not a barbershop).
